Play, Adventure & Risk-taking

* Join Suzanna Law in a discussion about adventure play, watch the award-winning film “The Land” and enjoy a workshop about the benefits of risk-taking in child-led play.

* Discuss ways to foster healthy risk-taking in child-led play

* Learn ways to support independence and experimentation in child-led play.

Children have a biological, psychological and social need to play! Using case studies and stories from all over the world, this workshop will include discussions on adventure play, risk and challenge, and how the societal need to over-schedule and over-protect may have a detrimental effect on the lives of our children. Join us as we explore the amazing benefits of child-directed play, and learn about ways to support independence, experimentation and risk-taking in child-led play.

As well as being given expert answers to your questions about play, participants will be shown the renowned short documentary The Land (Play Free Movie) about the famous Welsh adventure playground.

Note: This event is suitable for parents and educators of children of all ages.
